"Take some plastic cups and a room full of clever stuff courtesy of Remarkable, and out pops a 15cm (6 inch for the old school) ruler. Brilliant for measuring things, but not so good for drinking your coffee out of. Oh, and you've stopped three cups from ending up in landfill. Well done! The Remarkable story began with the humble pencil. In 1996 Edward Douglas Miller started to look at what could be made from waste materials in the UK. He started by experimenting with plastic cups, with the aim of turning one into a pencil... just because it had never been done before, and to prove that you could take one everyday, throwaway item that would usually end up in landfill, and turn it into something useful, and most importantly, fun."
