But let's go back to the first one: What exactly is Knowing Me, Knowing You.with Alan Partridge? Answer: a series of six chat shows I independently produced for the BBC which turned out to be the most talked about shows of their kind since Walden. And why? Answer: because I'm Alan Partridge. More The Merrier
The Christmas holiday is, traditionally, a time when families gather together. In Ralph's case, this means ten or more relatives coming to stay, including assorted aunts and uncles, nutty Great Aunt Ida (the Home tell them to be careful not to let her out) and his ghastly cousins: Titania in her sick-making, frilly, fairy dresses and twins Sylvester and Sylvia (it took till Easter last year before the family dog got over them). Jammed into one small house for three days of merriment and family fun, uncle tristam hurling potatoes at the cat and Mum on the verge of a breakdown, it soon becomes obvious that, in this house, more definitely does not mean merrier... A savagely funny and deliciously wicked tale from the 2001-3 Children's Laureate, multi-award winning author Anne Fine...

Spanking New On 7
Spanking New on 7 is BBC7's first original comedy series. Compered by Robin Ince (from BBC2's The Office, E4's The Pilot Show and Radio 4's The In-Crowd) it showcases new or unknown stand-up comedians. This release features the best of the first series, including material not featured in the original BBC7 broadcasts. Spanking New on 7 has an edgier and more adult feel than other BBC comedy broadcasts. It's as close to being in a comedy club as you can get in your own home, but without the overpriced beer and hecklers!

Spike Milligan: Vivat Milligna, A Twenty-One Goon Salute
Researched and written by Russell Davies, and presented by Denis Norden, this one hour documentary was broadcast on BBC Radio 2 on Christmas Eve 2002. In telling Spike's life story it will make extensive use of broadcast material as well as his music, books, poems, war memoirs and writings for children. Most particularly, it will utilise correspondence from and to Spike, taken from the BBC Written Archives, much of it never before seen or heard by a wide audience. Spike's correspondence with the BBC covered many topics and was never less than hugely entertaining; this tribute will contain the best of it.
