Viña Leyda Garuma Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2007 Leyda Valley, Chile
Delightful Chilean sauvignon Blanc from Leyda. Here is one of our latest finds from the north of Chile, where the proximity to the Pacific provide the ideal setting for grapes such as Sauvignon Blanc: long growing times in a cool maritime mesoclimate. It’s an intense wine with grassy, limey notes on the palate and a long refreshing finish. Although is a fantastic glass on its own, this little gem will also go well with fresh seafood and crisp salads.

Delicate and aromatic English white. This is a dry and delicate white made from predominately Phoenix and Madeleine Angevine grapes. A soft, floral aroma of elderflower and nettle combined with a hint of fresh peaches leads to an elegant and lively crisp dry white wine. Excellent with fish.

Domaine des Malandes 2005 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos, Burgundy, France
A fantastic grand cru Chablis with great structure and complexity. This domaine has half a hectare of this grand cru vineyard, producing under 2000 bottles – that’s less than a bottle per vine. The vines are 40 years old and grown on a gentle south-east facing slope. The wine has been aged in old barrels (new wood would give a more buttery character) and has great structure and youthful aromas of peach, mouth-watering acidity and length. This will soften and develop more complexity with bottle age and, although it can be enjoyed earlier, will be lovely from around 2012.
