ROEDERER ESTATE - Quartet, Anderson Valley Brut NV 75cl Bottle
Tasting Notes: This crisply elegant multi-vintage wine dazzles with complex pear, spice and hazelnut flavors. Fresh and lightly fruity, with great finesse and depth of flavour. Equally comfortable with candlelight dinners and summer picnics, the Anderson Valley Brut is not just for toasting! It's also wonderful with egg dishes (think brunch), sushi, spicy Asian food, fish and white meats with creamy sauces. Crush: Only the cuvee (first pressing of 120 gallons/ ton) is used, gently pressed from the pulp with minimal skin contact. Fermentation: Fermented at 65F in high-grade stainless steel tanks. No malolactic fermentation, to ensure the wines age well and retain the fresh style that is one of the characteristics of Roederer wines. Reserve Wines: Special oak-aged reserve wines make...

PRATS SYMINGTON - Post Scriptum 2006 75cl Bottle
The successful association between Bruno Prats, leading Bordeaux winemaker and the Symington family, with its knowledge and experience of the Douro since the 19th Century, led to the birth of the acclaimed Chryseia wine, which has brought immense prestige, not just to the Douro, but to Portuguese wines as a whole. It is produced in a more precocious style, ready to drink sooner, whilst maintaining considerable cellaring potential. Post Scriptum 2005 is mainly sourced from Quinta da Perdiz, bought by Prats & Symington just before the 2004 harvest. 2005 was an extraordinarily hot year. A dry autumn in 2004 was followed by a winter with hardly any rain, and summer was extremely hot and equally dry. The characteristic schistous soils found in the Douro once again proved to be very important...

PRATS SYMINGTON - Chryseia 2005 75cl Bottle
Deep intense colour, very young. A floral and very delicate nose with subtle hints of vanilla and cherries. Extremely fresh on the palate with very well integrated tannins. Lovely smooth, balanced and fruity finish. Very harmonious and elegant. A complete wine. Chryseia 2005 was made from a rigorous selection of grapes from Quinta da Vila Velha, Quinta do Bomfim and Quinta da Perdiz. From a very thorough initial triage, of the 200,000 kg of grapes vinified, a mere 25,000 litres were classified for Chryseia 2005. This was the smallest selection to date that corresponds to 30,500 bottles. 34,000 bottles of Post Scriptum, the second wine, were also bottled. 2005 was an extraordinarily hot year. A dry 2004 Autumn was followed by a Winter with hardly any rain, and Summer was extremely...

PIO CESARE - Nebbiolo d'Alba 2006 75cl Bottle
The grapes for Nebbiolo d´Alba come from the Nebbiolo vineyards. These vineyards are located in a geographic area stretching on the right bank of Tanaro river which typically produces fruit for the Barolo and Barbaresco wines. Therefore, it is only fitting that their Nebbiolo d´Alba has some similar olefactory characteristics to these wines, however containing a softer palate. Nebbiolo d´Alba is an approachable, everyday drinking wine that shows characteristics of elegant structure. It is an intense garnet red color with a delicate wild violet and rose bouquet with hints of blackberry and vanilla. The palate is dry, flavorousome and smooth.

PIO CESARE - Barolo DOCG 2004 75cl Bottle
The Nebbiolo grapes used to produce Pio´s Barolo come from the family vineyards around the village of Serralunga d´Alba. Pio´s own grapes account for about 70% of production, and they also source grapes from the most favourable areas in Castiglione Falletto and Monforte, the same stock they have used for the last hundred years. The grapes from Serralunga give a full body, those from Castiglione Falletto offer an ethereal and tempting nose, and the fruits from Monforte provide class and a refined nature. The harvest is the foundation upon which we build the Barolo. Each grape is hand selected, a long, slow process that can take up to three weeks, during the end of October and the beginning of November. Next the grapes are soft pressed and fermented at 25 to 26...

PIO CESARE - Moscato d´Asti 2007 75cl Bottle
Pio Cesare has harvested grapes for their Moscato from a few select vineyards in the village of Treiso and Madonna di Como for over a hundred years. The vintage date is carefully chosen in order to get the maximum ripening of these grapes, as evident a beautiful rusty gold colour. Harvest usually begins in the last week of Ocotber. Soft pressing followed by slow fermentation at a low temperature and bottling commences in March. The Moscato d´Asti is a sweet wine, rich in fruit scents, soft and alluring. It is a clear, bright glossy gold yellow colour with a ripe fruit and acacia flower bouquet. On the palate, the wine is soft and sweet, but with a definite strength.

PIO CESARE - Barbera d'Alba 2005 75cl Bottle
Pio´s Barbera is a wine quite different from many other Barbera. This is because the Barbera grapes are grown alongside the Nebbiolo grapes. This, combined with the extensive barrel ageing, results in a wine with the strength and wild energy of a Barbera, but the refined elegance of Barolo. Pio Cesare Barbera is a unique Barbera full and brave, yet soft and supple. Pio Cesare Barbera has an intense ruby colour with garnet reflections. The bouquet is distinguished and vital, with fresh, ripe fruit. The palate is clear and definite, with hints of ripe pulpy fruit, cherry, and notes of chocolate, frame with a long and pleasant finish. The grapes come from selected vineyards in the villages of Monforte and Castiglione Falletto and from grapes in Pio´s vineyards in the villages...
