IDIOM - Bordeaux Blend 2005 75cl Bottle
A full bodied blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (66%), Merlot (22%) and Cabernet Franc (12%). It is very expressive on the nose with sour blueberry and cherry aromas competing well with blackcurrant leaf and soft smoke. On the palate there are good firm tannins with lots of restrained red and black fruit with hints of vanilla, spice and dark roasted coffee. A succulent wine with a long finish. Aged in 70% new French barriques for 18 months; this wine is worthy of gracing any cellar and table. The Bordeaux has some succulent dark berry flavours as well as hint of spiciness and smokiness and as such goes well with different cuts of barbecued or chargrilled beef - rump, sirloin, fillet, best prepared medium rare. The Idiom Bordeaux and a good steak are a fantastic match. The dark chocolate...

IDIOM - Cape Blend 2005 75cl Bottle
A smooth rich wine made from the Cape's own grape Pinotage (40%) blended with Cabernet Sauvignon (50%) and Merlot (10%). This blend offers abundant aromas of deep red cherry fruit, sweet caramel and fragrant cigar smoke. It has a great depth of dark fruit flavour on the palate that continues on the long finish. An extremely versatile blend that can be paired with many foods such as seared tuna and roasted meats. The wine could also be paired with venison as the vibrant pinotage component will complement some of the game meat flavours. A mature cheese would also be well suited. DOMAINE DANIEL DAMPT - Chablis 1er Cru Cote de Lechet 2007 75cl Bottle
A great intensity of flavour displaying full-biscuity notes. Predominantly flinty with aromas of caramel, butter cream, honey, green apples, white flowers and a touch of mint. Good concentration and freshness on the palate with flavors of caramel and butter. Long, lingering finish. Accompanies light seafood preparations, simple cold chicken dishes, cold shrimp, and cracked crab. Grilled dishes are too bitter, but with cheese as an aperitif, this wine is very hard to beat. Try your favourite Chinese chicken salad, or shrimp, wrapped with bacon and drizzled with lime juice. white wine
